Vehicle Inspection & Type Approval Service (VITAS)

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) mandates that car dealers obtain approval for each new vehicle make and model to ensure compliance with safety and technical standards before they can be driven on the road.

Once preliminary approval is granted by the LTA, dealers must submit one vehicle of each model for inspection at an LTA-approved centre. STA Inspection centre is one such authorised inspection centre, integrated with the LTA’s web-based system to retrieve and update relevant information and results. The centre provides the following VITAS services:

• Type Approval Inspection
• Registration Inspection
• Facelift/Recertification/Extension to Type Approved Model
• Batch Vehicle Approval
• Change of Vehicle Particulars (Documents for after-market exhaust approval)
• Enforcement Inspection
• Goods Vehicle Weighing
